در گذشته راه حلی جز به کارگیری و انطباق ابزارهای مختلف طراحی از جمله visio, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint و Photoshop برای نمونه سازی وب سایت ها نداشتیم و همیشه شاهد نگرانی طراحان از موجود نبودن نرم افزار مناسب و معقول که به نمونه سازی وب سایت اختصاص داده شده باشد، بوده ایم. Axure RP ابزاری مخصوص برای نمونه سازی وب سایت ها و برنامه های کاربردی وب می باشد. این نرم افزار بر پایه مفاهیم شناخته شده از Visio و ابزارهای طراحی وب است و در واقع ترکیبی ظریف، از هردو را در بردارد. Axure RP Pro یک ابزار اختصاصی نمونه سازی وب است که با آن می توانید محیط تعاملی، توصیفی و مبتنی بر مرورگرها ایجاد کرده و به تمامی کارهایی که در یک نمونه سازی انجام می دهید پرداخته و عملکرد هر یک از اشیا (به عنوان مثال دکمه ها) را با اضافه کردن حاشیه و لینک تعریف کنید.

Axure RP is a dedicated tool for prototyping web sites and web applications. It's based on concepts known from Visio and web design tools, and elegantly combines the best of the two worlds. Interaction designers have suffered from the fact that there have been no decent software tools on the market dedicated to prototyping. Those of us who didn't stick with the pen, paper, scissor and glue stick method of paper prototyping, have had no other option but to use and adapt tools designed for other purposes, such as Visio, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, and Photoshop. Axure have set out to change this. Their Axure RP Pro is a dedicated web prototyping tool. All it does is prototyping, and it does it quite well.

- Rapidly design user interfaces in a familiar drag and drop environment. Define the functionality of each individual object (i.e. buttons) by adding annotations and links.
- View and interact with your prototype within a browser. Annotations can be viewed in the prototype by clicking the labels. Links and HTML objects are functional.
- Document the design with easy-to-read, professional specifications. The generated Word documents include screenshots with footnotes and object tables with annotation and link information.
- Save time and make global changes by using references and templates. A change to a reference or template will be reflected on all pages that the reference or template is used.
